The offseason is filled with coaches who are equally excited and frightened to get to the season. Excited for the limitless possibilities. Frightened of everything else. Say, for instance, a defensive lineman getting caught riding a stolen bike. LSU’s Frank Herron was arrested on Monday for bicycle theft and was issued a misdemeanor summons, Jim Kleinpeter of The Times-Picayune reports.

Via Kleinpeter:

The bicycle was reported stolen Wednesday around noon from a bike rack near the Huey P. Long Fieldhouse, Lalonde said. The victim notified police Monday that he saw someone riding what he thought was the stolen bike near the Cox Center for Academics.

Officers did not believe the person riding the bicycle knew it was stolen and on further investigation, identified Herron as a possible suspect. Herron admitted to the theft during interrogation by officers and was arrested about 1:30 p.m. Theft of property valued below $500 is considered a misdemeanor and above $500 a felony, [LSU police captain Cory] Lalonde said.

Herron is a 6-foot-5, 275-pound redshirt freshman from Memphis. He was the 23rd-rated recruit in the class of 2013, according to Rivals.com.
